The Farris - Porsgrunn double track railroad project started in 2011 and will be opened for traffic in 2017. The $1 billion project covers a length of 23 km between the cities of Larvik and Porsgrunn and consists of 7 tunnels and 5 bridges.
Martineåsen tunnel: 3,7 km
Skillingsmyr tunnel: 3,8 km
Storberget tunnel: 4,7 km
Eidanger tunnel: 2,4 km.
Client is Norwegian Railroad Authorities. Contractors are NCC as, Skanska as, Veidekke as and Implenia as among others.
Tunnel & GeoConsult is was engaged with 3 engineers and construction managers on the project.
